Loren “Babe” W. Wishowski, age 85, of Johnson Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison with his family by his side.
Loren Wishowski was born on December 21, 1930, the son of Felix and Ida (nee Hansen) Wishowski. Babe was a 1948 graduate of Johnson Creek High School, where he played on the basketball, baseball, and football team. He was the first quarterback on Johnson Creek’s first football team. On June 12, 1954, he married the former Carol J. Braunschweig at the Methodist Church in Johnson Creek. Carol preceded him in death on July 23, 2014. Babe served in the United States Army in Korea. He was employed at Schweiger Industries in Jefferson. He was member of the Johnson Creek Fire Department for over forty years. Babe was also a member of Johnson Creek American Legion Post #305. He enjoyed playing softball up until later in life. Babe was an avid Milwaukee Brewer, Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead. Babe loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Babe is survived by two children, Don (Dori) Wishowski of Elgin, IL; Debi (Jim) Lemminger of Johnson Creek; grandchildren, Katie (Tim) Wishowski-Wetzel; Brock (Katie) Wishowski; Kayla (Mike) Wendt; Leslie (Mark) Williams; Kiara (Justin) Erdmann; Kassidy Lemminger; great-grandchildren: Jack, Austin, Charli, Avery, Whitney, Camden, Colby and Porter; brother, Duke (Judy) Wishowski; brother-in-law, Jim (Cyndi) Braunschweig; sister-in-law, Sandy Branschweig as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Carol; brothers, Donald Wishowski and Gerald “Swish” Wishowski as well as brother-in-law, Chuck Braunschweig.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with Rev. Kelly Jahn officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be on Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek.
