Robert “Bob” J. Heiden, 81, of Watertown passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Dycora Transitional Health in Watertown.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Todd Iverson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the church or the Watertown Humane Society. Robert Joseph Heiden was born on October 18, 1936, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (nee Saniter) Heiden in Watertown. On October 4, 1958 he married Kathryn Brink at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.
Bob served in the United States National Guard being called to active duty for one year during the Berlin Crisis. He worked for Johnson Controls as a maintenance mechanic and retired after 40 years. Bob then went back to work at Ace Hardware and Tire-Rifik both in Watertown.
Bob was an avid LEGO builder and collector. A majority of his basement was dedicated to this hobby. He also enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Bob regularly mowed his lawn and liked to relax outside in the front yard in his chair.
Bob is survived by his wife Kathryn Heiden of Watertown; four children: Mark (Julie) Heiden of Watertown, Sue (Randy) Vogel of Jackson, Andy (Patti) Heiden of Watertown, and Peter (Michele) Heiden of Watertown; grandchildren: Whitney Heiden, Taylor Heiden, Oliver (Courtney) Vogel, Alex (Elizabeth) Vogel, Abby (Derek) Yogerst, AJ Heiden, Megan Heiden, Nicholas Heiden, Megan Tickner; great-grandchildren: Eli Vogel, Holly Vogel, Lauren Vogel; one sister Kathy (Ken) Peterson of Watertown, Daniel (Sandee) Heiden of Watertown, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
