Harvey August Kottwitz, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2013 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun, WI.
Harvey was born on Sept 15, 1921 in Milford, WI, son of August and Ida (Baumann) Kottwitz.
He attended school in Watertown and Waterloo.
Harvey was a farmer in the Watertown area until 1967. He worked for several years at Lindberg Hevi-Duty and then in maintenance at Aunt Nellie’s in Clyman, WI.
After retiring in 1984, Harvey continued fabrication and welding in his garage.
Harvey was a member of St John’s Lutheran church in Watertown.
Harvey enjoyed fishing at his lake cabin in Briggsville, WI and hunting on his land in Crivitz, and often took trips to Minnesota and Canada. He was an avid deer hunter with a bow and gun.

Harvey and Loraine traveled to many places in the US and Europe.
He was a member of Watertown Archers for many years, Whirl-a-way Square Dancers, St John’s Dart ball team, and Juneau Rod and Gun club.
Harvey is survived by 3 sons, Kenneth (Diane) Kottwitz, David (Debbie Scheller) Kottwitz and Travis (Laura) Kottwitz and 2 daughters, Michele (Ralph) Behlke and Antonette (Ken) Huggett; his sister Helen, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Loraine Winter; a son, Gregory, 3 grandsons, his sisters and brothers, Gladys Mohr, Clara Stangler, Dorothy Steinhorst, Adelinge Keilhofer, Elsie Salmi, Myrtle Preder, Florence Henning, Henry Kottwitz, Earl Kottwitz, Leonard Kottwitz, and Reuben Kottwitz.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun for all their loving care to Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
