Mary A. Krueger, age 95, of Watertown, passed away Monday morning, June 23, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Watertown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown, with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials, in Mary’s name, are suggested to the church or to the Golden Living Activities Department.

Mary Antoinette Schleicher was born in Watertown on March 30, 1919, daughter of George and Agnes (Paulik) Schleicher. She was a 1937 graduate of Watertown High School. On April 27, 1943, she married Robert W. Krueger at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.
Mary had been employed as a telephone operator for the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company for a number of years. She and her husband also owned and operated Krueger Builders of Watertown.
Mary was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and its Rosary and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Watertown American Legion Auxiliary, VFW and the Amvets.
Mary was a very giving person who always put everyone else before herself. She also was a positive person who never said an ill word about anyone.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, often times commenting how much she loved having so many children. She also enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid card player, especially Sheepshead. Before moving to Golden Living she was a regular at the weekly Senior Center Sheepshead tournament, often times winning even at the age of 94.
Survivors include her five daughters, Kathy (Tom) King, Carol (Bruce) Martin, Mary (Mark) Scherer, Beth (Greg) Thrams, all of Watertown and Joan Wesenberg of Surprise, AZ; four sons, Kenneth (Wendy Kubokawa-Wells) Krueger, James (Mary Lou) Krueger, Joseph (Kim) Krueger, all of Watertown and Rev. Robert “Giz” (Kristy) Krueger of Manchester; twenty seven grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; a sister, Josephine McFarland of Watertown, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert “Bob” Krueger on July 31, 1991; a son in infancy, David Brian Krueger; a grandson, Tim Krueger; three brothers, Henry, Paul and Charles Schleicher and three sisters, Frances Zickerman, Margie Grunewald and Sister Madeline Schleicher.
