Harold Edward Hilker was born on the family farm in the Town of Shields on April 24, 1921, son of Frank and Laura (nee Gehrke) Hilker. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Watertown where Harold grew up. As a young man, Harold worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps until serving in WWII in the United States Army, as an Engineer, from 1944 until his discharge in 1947. After returning home from the war he worked in the construction and carpentry industry. In his earlier years he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by one son, Mark (Carrie) Hilker of West Bend; one grandson, Logan Hilker, and a sister-in-law, Linda Hilker of Watertown, along with other relatives and friends. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Harold was further preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
The family would like to thank Total Living Care of Watertown Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided to Harold.
