The former Shari Ann Sprenger was born on February 17, 1945 in Jefferson, the daughter of Edward and Tekla (Sydow) Sprenger. Shari was a 1963 graduate of the Watertown High School and a graduate of the Illinois Valley Community College with a Registered Nursing Degree.
On April 12, 1969 she married her lifetime companion, Don Winton at the Watertown Moravian Church. Shari had been employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, IL, and at Bethesda Lutheran Home and Marquardt Memorial Manor, both in Watertown. Shari was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown. She loved to go up to Northern Wisconsin to fish with her parents when she was a little girl. She enjoyed and loved spending every minute she could, right up to her last day with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shari was the rock of the family, the absolute center that made everyone whole. She devoted her life to helping others, even complete strangers. Shari loved working in her many flower gardens, putting puzzles together and reading.
Shari is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Terri) Winton of Jacksonville, FL; Thomas Winton of Watertown and Jill (Randy Rickerman) Noyce of Watertown; her very special niece, Julie Winton of Amelia, VA; her two grandsons, Noah Noyce and Wesley Orion Winton; a brother, Larry Sprenger of Mercer, other relatives and friends.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don on February 8, 2012; her father and mother-in-law, Orville and Ida Winton; her sister and brother in-law, Joan and Ralph Winton; a sister-in-law, Marion Sprenger and a special friend, Joyce Siebold.
