Thomas “Toby” E. Faubel, age 86, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at noon at St. Gabriel Parish, St. Mary Magdalene Church in Johnson Creek with Father David Wanish officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Silver Cliff Cemetery in the Town of Silver Cliff with a meal following at Jungle Jim’s, Athelstane. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Rainbow Hospice or St. Gabrial Parish improvement fund. Thomas Edward Faubel was born on December 6, 1929 in Milwaukee, the son of Theodore J. and Isabelle C. (nee Hoerres) Faubel. He attended Victor Berger grade school and Boys Technology and Trade High School in Milwaukee. Toby served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a musician in the Third Infantry Division Combat Band from September, 1950 until September, 1953. On May 30, 1953, he married Mary A. George in Milwaukee. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek and the Silver Cliff American Legion Auxiliary Post #66. Toby spent most of his career as a truck driver, retiring from Evans Brothers Trucking and then drove ambulance in Silver Cliff up until 2010. He enjoyed volunteering at Rainbow Hospice for the past 2 years.
Toby is survived by his five sons, Ted (fiancé Margie Parvin) Faubel of Idaho; Tom Faubel, Jr. of Waukesha; Tim (Janice) Faubel of Shawano; Terry Faubel of Crivitz; Todd (Debbie) Faubel of Watertown; seven grandchildren: Nichole, Christopher, Adam, Andrew, LCpl Jesse, PFC Shawn and Vanessa Faubel; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ashton and Braden as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary.
