Harold Bobrofsky, age 96, of Watertown, was called to his eternal rest on July 7, 2018 at Heritage Homes in Watertown.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia with Rev. Joel Free, Rev. Tony Pittenger and Rev. Bartsch. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Ixonia. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Harold August Herman Bobrofsky was born on May 12, 1922 in Oconomowoc, the son of Frederick and Caroline (nee Fortman) Bobrofsky. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc and confirmed on May 16, 1937. Harold enlisted in the 859th Chemical Company in November of 1943. He was discharged on February 14, 1946. On May 12, 1946, he married Jeanette D. Kuester at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Jeanette preceded him in death on March 22, 2016. Harold and his wife farmed near Ixonia until 1965 where they raised hogs for Purina. He also was employed at Oliver Construction, Findorf Construction and the Town of Concord. Harold was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia where he served as Congregational President as well as on various committees over the years. He aided in the construction of St. Paul’s Lutheran School. Harold was a 50-year member of Milwaukee Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed serving his community by helping with Red Cross Blood Drives for over 15 years. He was a member and former president of Watertown AARP as well as Aid Association for Lutherans and Thrivent Financial Groups. Harold and Jeanette moved to Watertown in 2013 and Harold was currently residing at Heritage Homes.
Harold is survived by his children, Tom (Judy) Bobrofsky of Loyal, WI and Barbara Mantey of Port Orchard, WA; grandchildren, Jay (Amy) Bobrofsky, Melissa (Rev. Tony) Pittenger, Kay (David) Heiting, Kari (James) Hahm, Stacey (Scott) Hill, Jessica (Cleveland) Upton, Kristin Mantey and Aaron Mantey; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elvira Propp as well as other relatives and friends. He was further preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wendy Louise; son, Brian Arland in infancy; siblings, Eddie Bobrofsky and Lorraine Bobrofsky and a son-in-law, Curtis Mantey.
