Kenneth H. Buss, age 78, of Watertown passed away on July 26, 2015.
Relatives and friends may call at Hafemeister Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Father Scott Jablonski of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown officiating. A private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Kenneth Harvey Buss was born in Watertown on August 7, 1937, the son of Harvey and Margaret (Ustad) Buss. He attended Watertown High School. Ken was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959, serving four years in the armed forces. On February 11, 1961 he married Phyllis J. Poppert at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. They were married for 54 years. Kenneth and Phyllis had two sons, Craig K. Buss and Dean A. Buss. Dean preceded Kenneth in death after a tragic car accident in 2007. He worked as a sheet metal layout man at Lindberg Hevi Duty in Watertown for eight years prior to owning and operating The Easy Wash Laundry in Watertown for 20 years. Ken also built the Wig-Wam Beauty Post for his wife, Phyllis, and was the owner of that for 21 years. He also was employed as a sheet metal operator at Ovenís Systemís in New Berlin for 21 years prior to his retirement in 2001. Ken enjoyed boating, water-skiing, downhill skiing, hunting and fishing. Ken especially loved vacationing with his wife. They took many wonderful vacations as a family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Craig Buss; his cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, Hannah, Kierstyn and Crystal Buss all of Watertown as well as siblings, Jackqueline (Sam) Hartmann of Neenah; Carol Klug of Milwaukee; Pat Boyd of Florida; Curtis (Janice) Buss; Terry (Donna) Buss; Phillip (Nancy) Buss all of Watertown; Faye Ann Krebs of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Margaret; son, Dean; sisters, Nancy Buss and Eileen Sterwald as well as brothers, Timothy and Roger Buss.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the VA Hospital in Madison and Rainbow Hospice.
