Wallace C. Pieper, 93, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday evening, August 1, 2012, at Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon, with the Rev. John Kelling officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects on Monday, August 6th at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church or to the charity of one’s choice.
Wallace Carl was born in Hustisford on September 16, 1918, son of August and Ida (Leitzke) Pieper. He was baptized on October 6, 1918 and confirmed on June 19, 1932, both at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford.
On August 24, 1940, he married the former Lillian Christian at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Wallace served in the United States Navy during WWII. He had been employed as a carpenter and after his retirement, he helped numerous families and friends with home repair and other projects. Wallace always said that he was busier after his retirement than before.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Wallace is survived by his wife, Lillian Pieper of Lebanon; his three children, Robert (Judy) Pieper of Lebanon; James (Janet) Pieper of Lebanon; Debra (Cliff) Falkenthal of Hustisford; a daughter-in-law, Shirley (Larry Uttech) Pieper of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Pieper, Kristine (Jeremy) Navine, Tammi (Reed Finley) Kaminski, Trisha Pieper, Torri Riedl, Jennifer (Ray) Leggett, Jaclyn Pieper, Heidi (Jacob) Anderson, Jodi (fiance, Brad Doro) Falkenthal; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Pieper, Justin Navine, Kasandra Navine, Alicia Navine, Brienna Braunschweig, Jordan Jeanson, and Blake Riedl; two sisters, Verna Lechner and Wilma Otte; a brother, Wilbert (Mabel) Pieper; a sister-in-law, Marles Pieper, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gene Pieper; a great grandson, Zachariah Pieper and a brother, Herold Pieper.
