Shirley A. Schoenherr of Watertown went to be with her Lord on Friday July 31, 2015 at the age of 75, following a long illness.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday evening, August 6, 2015 at 7 pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, with Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 5 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be on Friday morning at 10 am at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or Heritage Homes in Watertown. Shirley was the oldest of four children born to Joseph and Katherine (Herr) Somodi on June 4, 1940 in the city of Milwaukee. Her parents eventually moved to Muskego, yet she attended West Milwaukee High School graduating with honors. Following high school she met Leroy Schoenherr at Muskego Beach Dance Hall. The two were married on May 20, 1961 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Muskego, after which they became Watertown residents. Shirley was a mother to three children and helped her husband on the farm. She was also employed by local businesses processing insurance and medical records for over thirty years. In her spare time she enjoyed going to dances, playing cards, knitting, bowling, making birthday cakes for children and grand-children, as well as visiting family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with Leroy and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Shirley was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and choir where she sang praises to the Lord for over forty years.

Shirley is survived by three children; Robert Schoenherr, Susie (Matt) Schliewe and Connie (Aaron) Pugh all of Watertown, six grandchildren; Jon Schoenherr, Tyler Abitz, Jamie Abitz, Mitchell Schliewe, Hunter Schliewe and Desirae Pugh, two great-grandchildren; Lavaya Abitz and Harper Abitz, a sister; Barbara (Dennis) Young of Wind Lake, two brothers; Joseph (Jan) Somodi of Laramie, WY., and Thomas (Nancy) Somodi of Muskego, a sister-in-law; Mildred (Ronnie) Bohn of Watertown, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Leroy, whom she missed greatly.
