Violet R. Chartier, age 88, of Sullivan, passed away on Friday August 9, 2013 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Fort Atkinson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington with the Rev. Richard Pagels officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rainbow Hospice or Sienna Crest Assisted Living. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family. The former Violet Rose Blank was born on April 27, 1925 in Oak Grove, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Keeser) Blank. On June 20, 1943 she married Clarence Chartier.
Violet and her husband farmed for many years in the Town of Concord. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Violet was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington and the Ladies Aid for many years.
Violet is survived by four daughters, Karen (Dennis) Miller of Watertown, Barbara (Donald) Reinke of Sullivan, Sandra Simmons of Helenville, and Susan (James) Kaap of Watertown; a son, Michael (Christina Demmin) Chartier of Watertown, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother Jerald (Joanne) Blank of Beaver Dam and a sister Phyllis (Allen) Hinz of Lacey, WA.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence on October 26, 2011, and a brother, Merlin Blank.
