Mary A. Davis, 69, of Horicon, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 18, 2016 with her family by her side following a battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Promised Land Church, 243 E. Spaulding St. Watertown, WI 53098, with Rev. Jeffrey Steiner officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to the family would be appreciated. Mary Agnes Hurley was born on October 27, 1946 in Beaver Dam to Verne and Amanda (Tews) Hurley. Mary was a graduate of Horicon High School. On June 24, 1967, she married Jack Davis in Milwaukee, and later became a homemaker caring for her seven children. For the last 15 years she was employed at Kwik Trip in Horicon. Mary was a member of Promised Land Church in Watertown where she enjoyed teaching children’s church and helping with the food pantry. Mary was known as a very kind, caring and loving person. She touched the hearts of every person that crossed her path. No matter what she was doing in life, her love of people, young and old was evident. She cherished her family and had a deep love of God. One of her favorite pastimes was to spend time with her grandchildren, they brought her great joy.
Mary is survived by her husband Jack Davis of Horicon; her seven children: Jack (Jayne) Davis Jr. of Milwaukee, Tracy (Scott) McCue of Milwaukee, Matthew (Christina) Davis of Horicon, Melissa Leberak of Horicon, Sean (Christine) Davis of Horicon, Nathan Davis of Horicon, Amanda Davis of Kentucky; her grandchildren: Joshua and Jenna Davis; Michael (Leah) Davis, Melanee (Jake) Paul, Duncan McCue, Megan (Jesse) Leberak, Erin Leberak, Evan Leberak, Shayla (Dom) Britton, Felicia Heimermann, Jaden Davis, Savannah Davis; one great-grandson Hudson Paul; a brother John (Lois) Hurley of Elkhart Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Joan (Roland) Mueller.
