Nicholas L. Triana
Nicholas L. Triana, age 89, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Golden Living Center.
Nicholas Lewis Triana was born on December 16, 1922 in North East, PA, the son of Samuel and Josephine (Acquista) Triana. Nicholas was a 1941 graduate of North East High School and attended Thiel College. He then served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On April 19, 1947, Nicholas married the former Irene Giese at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He went on to work at The Village Blacksmith. For the majority of his life, he was a tool die maker at Durant, now known as Eaton Corp. On the side, he worked as a realtor. Nicholas was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the Cemetery Association Board, as usher, and on their dartball team. He was also part of the Realtor's Association. Nicholas loved woodworking and working with his hands. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and watching the Packers and Brewers.
Nicholas is survived by a son, Terry (Teresa) Triana of Watertown; four grandchildren, Angela Triana, Matthew (Cindy Schmidt) Triana, Lyndsey Kuehl and Korin Kuehl; two great grandchildren, Eagen Beck and Mason Triana; a brother, Sam Triana; two sisters, Mary Kress and Barbara Wagner, both of North East, PA; as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, wife Irene, on December 22, 2008; six sisters, Laura, Sara, Rose, Lucy, Josephine, and Carrie; and two brothers, Frank and Cosmo.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial and Military Graveside rites will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made out to the Alzheimer's Association or the church.
