Dr. Edward “Terry” S. Perkins, 95, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Watertown Regional Medical Center, Wisconsin.

Edward Sylvester Perkins was born on October 15, 1919 to Edward and Gertrude (Price) Perkins in London, England. On February 23, 1952, he married Anne Rammell at St. Albans in England. They spent 63 wonderful years of marriage together.
Dr. Edward S. Perkins was a world-renowned ophthalmologist, with several inventions, over 150 original scientific papers published as well as several books. He contributed to the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Music was always an important feature in his life. Besides playing instruments, he became interested in the physics of the violin and made a number of stringed instruments. He published a book about the structure and function of the violin.
Fly fishing for trout was an life long interest and he also played tennis and took up golf after his retirement.
Edward is survived by his wife, Anne Perkins of Watertown; children, Stephen Perkins of Green Bay, Richard (Elizabeth) Perkins of Birmingham, England, Juliet (Tim) Slavens of Johnson Creek, Helena (Eugene) White of Madison; grandchildren, Nina Perkins, Phoebe Perkins, Isabelle Perkins, Jonathan Slavens, David Slavens, Leo White, and Nicholas White.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Arda Ishkhanian.
