Lorraine I. Sampson, 84, of Watertown, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 6, 2012, at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman with the Rev. Michael Schempf officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clyman.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials in Lorraine’s name may be given to the church or to the charity of one’s choice.
The former Lorraine Ida Neumann was born in the town of Trenton on Oct. 5, 1927, daughter of Otto and Ida (Kanzenbach) Neumann. On Sept. 15, 1946, she married Oscar Feilbach at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Trenton. Oscar preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1977.
Lorraine married Manden Sampson at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman on April 9, 1983.
She had been employed as a cook at Clyman Consolidated School and worked at Aunt Nellie’s Foods, also in Clyman.
Lorraine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman and a former member of the ladies aid. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting and fishing. Lorraine loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Manden, of Watertown; her three children, Katherine (Paul) Reising of Prairie du Chien, Barb (Gerald) Pilsner of Cambridge and Larry (Linda) Feilbach of Juneau; two stepdaughters, Nancy (Ralph) Kohlhoff of Juneau and Wendy Sampson of Clyman; a stepson, William (Judy) Sampson of Mukwonago; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Wolc of Beaver Dam; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was also preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Jacob Day; a sister, Eldora Lauth; four brothers, Roland Neumann, Wilbur Neumann, Leonard Neumann and Vern Neumann.
