David "Dorny" K. Dornfeld, age 82, of Clyman, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman with Rev. Michael Schempf officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday night from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown and on Thursday morning at Zion Lutheran Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clyman. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion Lutheran Church Organ Fund would be appreciated. David Kenneth Dornfeld was born on October 25, 1932 in Watertown, the son of Oscar and Irene (nee Turke) Dornfeld. He attended Reeseville High School. David was enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War Conflict earning a National Defense Service Medal. On January 15, 1977, he married the former Jane Pluckhan at Zion Lutheran Church.
David was employed as an over the road truck driver for thirty years. His next adventure was owning and operating Dorny's Bar in Clyman for 18 years. He was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman. He was also a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 189.
David and Jane loved to travel which resulted in many life-long friendships. Two of their fun-filled destinations were Las Vegas and Branson, MO. David loved people, enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and the Green Bay Packers. He especially loved spending time with his family and took great pride in all of their accomplishments.
David is survived by his wife, Jane of Clyman; children, Denise (Tom Drengson) Dornfeld of San Diego; Timothy (Mary) Dornfeld of Clyman; Michael Dornfeld of San Diego; Kevin Klages of Antigo; Joelle Sachse of Clyman; grandchildren, Isaac Dornfeld, Seth Dornfeld, Eli Dornfeld, Lydia (Zachery) Gaulthier, Malachi Dornfeld, Rosalee Dornfeld, Silvanna Dornfeld, Jacob Sachse and Alexan Sachse as well as great-grandchildren Leighton Gaulthier, Gretchen Gaulthier and Nolan Dornfeld. He is further survived by a brother, Robert (Betty) Dornfeld of East Troy as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Irene, and a brother, Lee (Caroline) Dornfeld.
