Alice T. Peters, 99, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown. Alice and her husband, Henry, were one of the first residents at Mueller Apartments in Watertown, making their home there for 34 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be held on Friday, Sept. 12th at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, with Father Patrick Wendler, celebrant. A family burial will be in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Henry Catholic Church or to Marquardt Health Center.

Alice Theresa Gniotczynski was born on March 1, 1915 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Joseph and Benigna (Wojciech) Gniotczynski. She married Henry L. Peters on September 26, 1936 at St. Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Henry preceded her in death on August 1, 2006.
Alice was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She was a stay-at-home mom who enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, dancing, listening to old time music and watching game shows on TV. For many years, Alice volunteered at the Turner Hall in Watertown.
Alice is survived by three loving children, daughters, Joyce Peters (Jim Abplanalp) Murtaugh, Judith (Allen) Bergmann and a son, Alan (Sharon) Peters, all of Watertown. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Dawn (David) Donnelly of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Scott (Amy) Bergmann of Westminster, MD; Heather Murtaugh of Oconomowoc; Glenn Peters of Watertown; Candace (Mark) Schatz of Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada and Jill Murtaugh of San Antonio, TX; seven great grandchildren, Brendan, Liam and Ronan Donnelly, Devin and Kyle Schatz, and Ella and Serena Bergmann. Alice is also survived by one sister, Sylvia Zygowski of West Allis, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Tomczyk and Eleanor Lewandowski.
The family would like to express its sincere thank you to the entire staff at Marquardt Health Center for their loving and compassionate care.
