Rev. Kent E. Schroeder, 78, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Prohealth Care Cancer Center in Oconomowoc or a charity of oneís choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Kent Erwin Schroeder was born on July 26, 1941 to Erwin and Selma (nee Diersen) Schroeder in Baldwin, WI. After graduating from Northwestern Prep and Northwestern College in Watertown, Kent continued his education by joining Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon,WI, graduating with a Masterís Degree in Theology. He then became Pastor of St. Peterís Lutheran Church in McMillan Township in Marshfield, WI and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strafford, Faith Lutheran Church in Antioch, IL, and St. Matthewís Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. On August 23, 1964, Kent married the former Lee Ann Knull at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Burlington. They raised three children together.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lee Ann Schroeder; children, David Jon (Lisa) Schroeder, Paul Robert (Julie) Schroeder, Christopher Lee (Kara) Schroeder; grandchildren, Nathaniel Schroeder, Lianna Schroeder, Amanda Schroeder, Everett (Mariah) Schroeder, Madeline (Christian) Monday, Anya Schroeder, Nicholas Schroeder, Theresa Schroeder, Elena Schroeder; siblings, Keith (Hedy) Schroeder, Neal (Marilyn) Schroeder, Jean (Jim) Westendorf, Joyce (Dan) Feuerstahler, Joel (Ruth) Schroeder, Mark (Andrea) Schroeder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lynn (Rachel) Schroeder.
