Rev. Marvin A. Radtke, “Marv”, 93 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Park Terrace in Watertown.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Dustin Yahnke officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials would be appreciated to Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) Home Missions. Marvin Alfred Radtke was born on January 28, 1924 to Edwin and Matilda (nee Radtke) Radtke in Milwaukee. On June 26, 1949 he married Helen Kuske in Roseville. They shared 68 years of marriage together. Marv was a WELS Pastor at congregations in Morristown, SD, Ann Arbor, MI, and Eagle River, WI. After serving those churches he became the Mission Counselor for the South Atlantic District of the WELS, residing in Florida until his retirement in 1990. After his retirement to Hayward,WI he continued his involvement with the WELS Builders for Christ. In 2008 Marv and his wife moved to Watertown, WI and became members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed muskie fishing, deer hunting, the outdoors and flying a single engine airplane.
Marv is survived by his wife Helen Radtke of Watertown; children: Carolynn (Paul) Bertolus of Watertown, Beth (Arnie) Enter of New Ulm, MN, Rev. Nathan (Sandy) Radtke of Hayward; ten grandchildren: Becky (Matt) Schiebel, Beth (Dan) Wittig, Katie (Dan) Douglas, Heather Bute, Ben (Stacy) Enter, Heidi (Andy) Pulk, Holly (Willy) Schwab, Joella (Matt) Cairns, Natalie (Jon) Koranda, Alexandra Radtke; as well as 21⅔ great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Rev. Gordon Radtke; one sister Marilyn Hagen.
