Fred E. Miller, age 61, of Juneau, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 am St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Anthony Schultz and Rev. Mark Gartner officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown and on Monday morning at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Lowell Cemetery. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
Fred Elton Miller was born on March 29, 1954 in Racine, the son of Troy and Louise (nee Bachand) Duff. On May 17, 1971, he married the former Sue Cates. She preceded him in death on February 22, 1994. On August 2, 2002 he married Lila Kottwitz-Zillmer at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Fred had retired from Continental Grain Research Farm in Richwood in the late 1990s. In his younger years he taught special needs children to make shoes, belts and leather products. Fred enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and spending time with family, friends and most of all his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife, Lila Miller of Juneau; children, Tim Miller, Melinda Simon and David Miller, all of Watertown; Melissa (Tim) Meyerhofer of Waterford; Amy (Brad) Lauersdorf of Oconomowoc; 16 grandchildren, Marissa Campos; James, Cameron and Kristin Miller; Joseph and Jordyn Erdmann; Madison and Dane Simon; Matthew Tessman; Ashley, Courtney and Mckaylee Meyerhofer; Anthony Miller; Sam Schwab; Tyler Ireland; Sophia Lauersdorf as well as one great-grandson, Zaiden Hansen. Fred is further survived by two sisters, Gail Caliendo and Deborah (Stephen) Healy; one brother, Peter (Beth) Lugo; best friends, Doug and Chris Falkner as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Louise; first wife, Sue (Cates) Miller; sister, Diane Alvarado; brother-in-law, Anthony Caliendo; sisters-in-law, Gail Arnold and Ann Van Stone; son-in-law, Carl A. Erdmann; granddaughter, Mackenzie Nicole Miller as well as good friend Robert G. Gifford.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
