Michael “Peanut” M. Dayton, age 64 of Watertown, passed away on Friday evening October 4, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 10, 2013 at 4 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Lance Schneider officiating. Burial will be at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church or Rainbow Hospice. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family. Michael Merwyn Dayton was born on August 17, 1949 in Beaver Dam the son of F. Merwyn and Claire (Twomey) Dayton. He was a 1967 graduate of the Watertown High School. On October 25, 1969 he married Linda Hines at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown. Mike had been employed as a driver for Wis-Pak Inc. and US Chemical both of Watertown. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown. Mike had enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending his son’s sporting events. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan. Mike loved spending time with his grandson Landon.
Mike is survived by his wife Linda of Watertown, his mother Claire Duesterbeck of Watertown, two sons, Chad Dayton and Dan (Kayla Wolf) Dayton all of Watertown, a grandson Landon, his sisters and brothers, Linda (Jay) Borstad of Watertown, James Duesterbeck and Donald Duesterbeck both of Watertown, Sally (Jeff) Lovick of Madison, Thomas Duesterbeck of Fitchburg and Charles Duesterbeck of Waupun, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
