June H. Altwies, 95, of Johnson Creek, was called home on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2014 at Sylvan Crossings in Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11th at noon at St. Johnís Lutheran Church, 129 Watertown St. in Johnson Creek, WI with the Rev. Matthew Smith-Laubenstein, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. If desired, memorials may be directed to the church, Rainbow Hospice, or to the charity of oneís choice.

June Helen Knop was born in Milwaukee on January 26, 1919, daughter of Ella Knop. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On March 2, 1938 she married Clifford N. Altwies by Rev. Frederick at St. Peterís Lutheran Church in Helenville. Clifford preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.
June worked at Thomas Industries and Bethesda Lutheran Home for many years. She enjoyed her house plants, gardening, cooking and baking for her family, and spent many years sewing quilts for the church and helping with the ladies aid. June loved her cat, Frisky.
June was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek and was involved in many of their activities.
Survivors include her five daughters, Arlene Seitz, of Jefferson; Marleen (Everett) Borth of Watertown; Yvonne Habermann of Watertown; Karen (Virgil) Olszewski of Jefferson and Wanda (John) Selje of Jefferson; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Irene Kasmiskie; Merla Stark; Shirley Baumann; a sister-in-law, Audrey Hale, a brother-in-law, Wesley Altwies, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
June was also preceded in death by her mother; a son, Allen Altwies; a sister, Roma Pieper; brothers-in-law, Russell, Lyle and Warren Altwies, Donald Baumann and Walter Stark; sister-in-law, Joyce Sievert and sons-in-law, Merlyn Seitz and Richard Habermann.
The family would like to thank Rev. Matthew Smith-Laubenstein, Sunset Ridge in Johnson Creek, Rainbow Hospice and Sylvan Crossings for the precious, tender care they gave June and her family.
