Marvin Walter Henry Ihde was born on June 18, 1919 in the town of Emmet, the son of Ernst and Regina (Borth) Ihde. On May 7, 1942 he married Virginia L. Schaefer at Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Virginia preceded him in death on March, 1, 1993. Marvin and his wife farmed near Watertown for many years. He was employed as a mechanic at several auto dealerships prior to his employment with the Watertown Street Department as head mechanic. He retired in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and listening to old time music. He could fix just about anything. He always enjoyed helping his girls maintain their cars and homes. All they had to do was ask, he was there and the job was done. He will be dearly missed. He was a member of River Valley Alliance Church in Watertown.

Marvin is survived by his three daughters, Beverly (Dan) Thompson of Rhinelander; Catherine Ihde (Bernie Niay) of Watertown; Judith (James) Maas, also of Watertown; six grandchildren, Peter (Jen) Thompson; Joanna Thompson; Adam Uttech; Noah (C.J.) Uttech; Micah (JoLeigh) Uttech; Nicholas Maas; two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Madison as well as other relatives and friends. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Virginia.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heritage Homes and Rainbow Hospice for their compassionate care.
