Geraldine “Gerrie” L. Schultz, 73, of Watertown, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.
Funeral services for Gerrie will be held Monday, Nov. 4th at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John’s Radio Fund.

Geraldine Lois Kube was born in Watertown on July 9, 1940, daughter of Edwin & Beulah (Bienfang) Kube. She graduated from St. John’s Lutheran Grade School and was a 1958 graduate of Watertown High School. Gerrie worked as a nurses aide at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Watertown before going to nursing school. She went on to graduate from Mercy School of Nursing in Janesville and the College of St. Francis in Illinois with a BS degree in Health. After nursing school, she came back to St. Mary’s Hospital as an RN. Then, from 1961 to 1976, she worked at the Watertown Memorial Hospital. Gerri retired from Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, where she had been employed from 1976 to 2001. She wrote and taped many songs, for the residents at Bethesda, to help them learn about their bodies.
Gerri married Donald Schultz on May 12, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. In the early 1960’s Gerri played the trumpet in the Lebanon Band. She lived and worked on the farm for the past 51 years. She enjoyed working with all the animals, loved flowers, cooking, baking and decorating cakes, playing cards and marbles, and having friends over. Gerri loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Watertown; her sons, Steven (Randi) Schultz and Scott Schultz, both of Watertown; two granddaughters, Payton and Sydney; a brother, Calvin (Mari) Kube of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Orville Schultz of Watertown; a sister-in-law, Diane Schultz of Jefferson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Ray Schultz and a sister-in-law, Norma Schultz.
The family would like to thank Golden Living Center in Watertown and Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau for the care in Gerri’s final days.
