Edwin J. Stadler, 88, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday evening, October 31, 2012, at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Edwin John was born in Watertown on September 25, 1924, son of John and Mary (Calopka) Stadler. He grew up on a farm in the area south of Watertown and attended Lake Mills schools. On May 19, 1951, he married the former Genevieve Schlesner at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.
Edwin owned his own trucking company for 59 years and hauled many different things from candy to grain to show cattle, and had up to 4 employees. After retirement, he worked at various restaurants in the Watertown area as a dishwasher, which he enjoyed very much. His most recent dishwashing job was at the Upper Krust Pie Shop in Watertown.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing, gardening, fishing and playing Sheepshead.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Genevieve Stadler of Watertown; his two sons, Robert and Andrew Stadler, both of Watertown and his daughter, Rosemary (Randy) Bohmsack also of Watertown; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margaret, in childhood, and Anna Mary Fogerty.
