Nancy was born on November 1, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to Henrietta (SeeKamp) and Raymond Gleason. In 1957 Nancy graduated from College of St. Francis, and in 1958 she married Ronald S. Aygarn and had four daughters, and one son.
In her early years Nancy was an elementary teacher, before she turned her focus to raising her family. Nancy returned to teaching, and after 20 years of teaching 4th grade at St. Henry’s (where she was known as “Mrs. A”) retired in 2001. Her passion for community service continued with substitute teaching and religious education classes, along with visiting and helping out with her grandchildren.
Nancy enjoyed being with family, playing sports such as volleyball and tennis, being outdoors, gardening and sketching, but most of all, she enjoyed teaching and helping others. She lived in several beautiful areas of the United States with her family (including Aurora, Colorado; Price, Utah; Kemmerer, Wyoming; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Pasadena, California; La Verne, California; and Lebanon & Watertown, Wisconsin).
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters Susan Aygarn-Kowalski of Carver, Massachusetts, Lisa Frazior of Rowlett , Texas, and Cynthia Eghbalnia of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter in-law Sue May Aygarn of Bangor, Maine; and grandchildren Aubrey, Kavan, Kian and Sara. She is survived by many other relatives and friends. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, husband Ron Aygarn, daughter Kathleen F. Aygarn, son Michael Aygarn, and siblings Ray, John, Mary and Agnes.
Nancy had a love of community and a gift of teaching. She is thankful for the Watertown community for supporting her and her family through the years, for St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown for their prayers and support, and for the kind staff at both Heritage Homes in Watertown and Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek that kept her comfortable.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Henry’s school fund (Watertown, WI).
