John S. Brom, 65, of Watertown, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, Wednesday morning, November 5, 2014, following a brief battle with gastric cancer.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8th at noon at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. John Kennedy of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, the National Wild Turkey Federation or Rainbow Hospice.

John Steven was born in Watertown on December 9, 1948, son of Joseph and Jane (Pagel) Brom.
He attended Lincoln Elementary School in Watertown and was a 1967 graduate of Watertown High School.
On April 15, 1972, John married Maureen Barry at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown.
He was a self employed carpenter for over 40 years, proudly serving the Watertown and surrounding areas. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built over the years with his customers.
John was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He cherished spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen of Watertown; his children, Christopher (Jonelle) Brom of Portage; Shannon (Kevin) Fenske of Reeseville and Kyle (Holly) Brom of Watertown; his nine grandchildren, Joseph Brom, Sophia Brom, Esen Fenske, Bamlak Fenske, Hiwot Fenske, Kamila Fenske, Marissa Fenske, Johnathon Brom and Emmett Brom; two sisters. Elizabeth Meyer, Kay (Craig) Fuchs and a brother, Michael (Vicki) Brom, all of Watertown, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Nikolas Brom.
John’s family would like to thank Dr. Eastman and staff at the UW Cancer Center in Johnson Creek, Rainbow Hospice and all of his family and friends from whom he received great love and support.
