Service: November 9, 2014
Barbara R. Dittmann
Barbara R. Dittmann, 79, of Watertown went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6th, after a brief stay at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek.
Barbara Rae Jurick was born in Watertown on April 12, 1935, daughter of Helen Jurick.
She was a graduate of St. Henry's Grade School and Watertown High School class of 1953.
On May 14, 1960 she was joined in marriage to Harold "Pinney" Dittmann at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Watertown.
Prior to her marriage, Barbara worked at various jobs, including the Northwestern Mutual, Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company as a phone operator, and at Kohl's Department
Store in the shoe department until her retirement.
Barb was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and had a special closeness with her grandchildren, sharing stories with them and attending their various activities.
Barb was a lifetime member of St. Henry's Catholic Church who volunteered at the school and church, and assisted the ladies serving funeral luncheons. She also volunteered at the Blood Bank. She was an avid Packer, Brewer, and Badger fan. She had the pleasure of going to Miller Park and Lambeau Field to see her favorite teams play. Barb also loved to play cards, especially sheepshead and euchre. Many good times and laughs were had around the card table.
She loved to travel and go to various casinos to play the slots. She also loved a good old fashioned now and then. In her youth she was a city record holder in bowling. She also enjoyed golf, achieving a hole-in-one with an actual "non-family" member witnessing the event!
Survivors include her devoted husband, Harold "Pinney" of Watertown; her four children, Joe (Cory) Dittmann and their children Laira and Mason; Mike (Julie) Dittmann and their children, Kayla and Kelsey; Pat (Kelly) Dittmann and children, Ryan (Ashley), Ricki and Molly; and Sue (Gary) Will and their children, Hunter and Sam all of Watertown; two step-great grandchildren, Mariel and Callie; one very special great-grandchild Brooklynn, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Helen in 1997.
The family would like to thank the CNAs, caregivers, and nurses at Aurora Health Care in Oconomowoc and Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek. A special thank you to Dr. Shammo and his staff for the attention and care they gave to our Mother and grandmother.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 10th at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Patrick Wendler, Celebrant.
Visitation will be on Sunday at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the mass. A private family burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
