John “Jack” C. Schmoller, Jr., age 91, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Zinzendorf Hall in Watertown.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Burial will take place at Ixonia Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the church, Alzheimer’s Association, or charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. John Charles Schmoller, Jr. was born on April 12, 1925 in Waukesha, the son of John Sr. and Ruth (nee Dinkel) Schmoller. He was a 1942 Graduate of Waukesha High School. He was then drafted into the U.S. Air Force during World War II. On June 20, 1948, Jack married the former Lorna Gerth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo. He graduated from UW-Madison in 1950. Jack worked as a personal property tax assessor for the City of Milwaukee until he retired. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and bridge. He was a member of Christ Lutheran in Milwaukee before moving to Watertown.
Jack is survived by his four children, John G. (Nancy) Schmoller of Watertown; Martha (Dick Moore) Crowder-Moore of Toronto, Canada; Lorna Claire Levy of Bisbee, AZ; Phyllis Schmoller of Watertown; 12 grandchildren, Johnny (Sarah) Levy, James Levy, Robert Levy, John M. (Shelly) Schmoller, Nick (Katherine) Schmoller, Gabriel (Jennifer) Lawrence, Jesse, Christopher, Arturo, Fernando, Ruben and Manuel Levy White; as well as 8 great-grandchildren and a brother, Eugene Schmoller of Hopkins, MN.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife on February 4, 2007, his parents, and a sister-in-law Anne Schmoller.
The family would like to thank the staff at Zinzendorf Hall and Marquardt Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Jack.
