Linten H. Grabow
Linten H. Grabow, 89, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown with his family by his side.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Todd Iverson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 5:00 p.m.until the time of the service. Military rites will be performed at the church following the service. Memorials would be appreciated to the church.
Linten Henry Grabow was born on January 5, 1927 the son of Henry and Alice (Harling) Grabow. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and later served in the United States Army during WWII. Linten was stationed in Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. On July 6, 1957 he married Shirley Johnson at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Linten worked at Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown for 47 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown and enjoyed listening to music, and watching NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. Linten also enjoyed woodworking. He had a great love of traveling, especially the back roads of Wisconsin. Linten enjoyed “tinkering” with and building just about anything. He loved cars, especially his 1955 Nomad. He could name the make and model of any car driving down the road.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Grabow of Watertown; four children: Maureen (Mark) Kunke of Tarpon Springs, FL, LTC Greg (Haidatul) Grabow of Fort Knox, KY, Tamara (David) Coeur of Grafton, Rhonda Grabow of Anaheim, CA; eight grandchildren: Nicole (Geoff) Thomas of Carver, MA, Michael Kunke of New Port Richey FL, Jason Kunke of Holiday, FL, Hadida Grabow of Madison, Kevin Grabow of Whitewater, Jason Grabow of Watertown, Douglas Coeur of Indianapolis, Sarah Coeur of Grafton; five great-grandchildren: Amber Thomas, Allison Thomas, Brenden Thomas, Grant Kunke, and Mila Kunke, as well as other relatives and friends. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Linten was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Virginia Zautner, and a grandson Nathan Kunke.
The family would like to thank the staff of Marquardt Health Center, Marquardt Hospice as well as Dr. Grajewski for their wonderful care and compassion.
