Orville “Orv” C. Kuckkan, 88, was born on August 23, 1926 in Watertown and passed away on Saturday morning at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11am at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial with military graveside honors will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the St. Mark’s Good Samaritan Fund, or a local food pantry would be appreciated.
Orville was the son of Edward and Cora (Schuett) Kuckkan. He attended St. Mark’s Lutheran grade school and Watertown High School. Orv was a veteran of World War II who served in the Army as an MP in the European Theater.
On August 27, 1945 he married Leona Adams and shared 65 wonderful years together. After his retirement they went on numerous trips around the United States, visiting almost every state. Orv was self-employed for most of his adult life as owner and operator of Kuckkan Oil in Watertown.
He enjoyed hunting, trapshooting with his brothers, woodworking, and golf. He especially enjoyed playing cards with his family. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Orv is survived by his son, Roger (Sharon) Kuckkan of Pewaukee; one grandson, Brent (Alicia) Kuckkan; three great-grandchildren, Ben, Gretchen, and Kaitlyn all of Lafayette, Indiana; three step-grandchildren Joy (James MacDougall) Castro of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lisa (Mike VonDerLinden) Wiedmeyer of Waukesha, Jeff (Chiara Fioroni) Wiedmeyer of Booklyn, New York; one step-great-grandchild Grey Castro; two brothers, Louis (Ora) Kuckkan, and George (Kaye) Kuckkan both of Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Martha (Wes) Neff, Louise Lins both of Watertown; and many nieces and nephews.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leona on August 16, 2010; two brothers, Harold and Eddie Kuckkan; sisters-in-law Betty Kuckkan, Rosemary Kuckkan, Lorraine Kuckkan, Jenny Ott, and Judy Deick; three brothers-in-law, Robert and Wally Adams, Elmer Deick; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Kuckkan.
