Barbara M. Grulke, age 79, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Marquardt Health Center following a lingering illness.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Family and friends may view and pay their respects at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Following cremation, a private family burial will take place at Ixonia Ev. Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Johnís Lutheran Church are appreciated. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Barbara May Fehrmann was born on May 26, 1936 in the Town of Lebanon, the daughter of Herbert and Florence (nee Raether) Fehrmann. She was baptized on June 15, 1936 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. On May 29, 1954, Barb married Norbert Paul Grulke at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Norbert preceded her in death on December 19, 1993. Barb was employed at Watertown Memorial Hospital for 25 years in the OB department. She then worked as a CNA at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc for several years. Barb later worked as a Nursing Assistant at Zinzendorf in Watertown until her retirement. She was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Watertown. She attended Bible class and was a member of the Senior Church Choir. Barb loved to bake and enjoyed knitting and crafting. Her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Barb is survived by her children, Randell (Lynn) Grulke of Watertown; Dawn Pirkel of Deerfield; Todd (Lisa) Grulke of Oconomowoc; Joel (Amy) Grulke of Grafton; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marion (Roger) Zimmerman of Watertown; brother, Allen (Sharon) Fehrmann of Palmyra; sister-in-law, Kathryn Fehrmann of Watertown as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Florence Fehrmann; her husband, Norbert and brother, Ronald Fehrmann.
