Judith A. Schmidt, age 66, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia with Rev. Kenneth Ewerdt officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Ixonia. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Friday from 3 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials if desired should be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ixonia, Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills or AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.

The former Judith Ann Jaeger was born on March 26, 1946 in Watertown the daughter of Omar and Georgianne (Krueger) Jaeger. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills. Judy had been employed for over 30 years in the banking business at the Merchants National Bank (Chase Bank) in Watertown and at Ixonia State Bank (ISB Community Bank) in Ixonia. Most recently she was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Watertown. Judy loved music, directed choir and was one of the organists at St. Paul's since she was in grade school. Judy also loved gardening, canning and cooking for family and friends alike. She never hesitated to help those in need and loved spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her husband Paul of Watertown, her mother Georgianne Jaeger of Ixonia, three children, James (Michelle) Schmidt of Fond du Lac, Kristin (Andrew) Pappenfuss of St. Joseph, MI and Steven (ReBecca) Schmidt of Watertown, twelve grandchildren, Richard, Nicholas, Tiffany and Natalie Schmidt, Zachary, Kaylin and Zebulon Pappenfuss, Dylan, Kameron, Jaden, Dominic and Harmony Schmidt, two sisters and seven brothers, Donald (Margie) Jaeger of Jefferson, Mark (Joyce) Jaeger of Johnson Creek, Steven (Lois) Jaeger of Mankato, MN, Richard (Bonnie) Jaeger of Ixonia, Gail (Jeffrey) Buchta of Ixonia, Michael (Kris) Jaeger of Fort Atkinson, Allen (Tracie) Jaeger of Tucson, AZ, John (Tammie) Jaeger of Watertown and Emily (Wayne) Blanchard of East Troy, a brother-in-law Dean Melcher of Watertown, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Omar, a brother Charles in infancy and a sister Kathleen Melcher.
