Edwin H. Schroeder, 83, of Watertown, peacefully went to his heavenly home on Friday, November 21, 2014, after a long battle with cancer, with his loving wife by his side.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26th at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
The visitation will be Tuesday, November 25th at the Hafemeister Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church, AngelsGrace Hospice or Shorehaven, both in Oconomowoc.

Edwin was born on October 16, 1931 in the Town of Watertown to Alvin and Helene (Kropf) Schroeder. He attended Whitney Grade School in the Town of Watertown. On November 28, 1981, he married Marian Baars at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. He was a self-taught handyman, able to fix almost anything. He planned and built the home in which they lived and together they ran the family farm in the Town of Watertown. Ed retired from farming in 1996 and then kept himself busy making wood crafts and collecting antique car models.
He was a member of St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He will be greatly missed by his dear wife of 33 years, Marian; his son, Jeffrey (Karen) Schroeder; daughter, Jane (Keith) Schwartz; stepsons, Daniel (Debbie) Baars, Kenneth (Pearl) Baars and Lyle Baars; five grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, two great granddaughters, seven step-great grandchildren and a step-great great grandson. Grieving his passing are his four sisters, Lorraine Yahn, Elna Braeker, Gladys Ninmann and Karol (Donald) Wesemann, and his brother, Carl (Betty) Schroeder, along with numerous relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Hazel Peuse and five brothers-in-law.
