Anna E. Warner, age 92, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Entombment will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Time of Grace. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Anna Ella Kretzschmar was born on December 17, 1924 in Mellen, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Ella (nee Franke) Kretzschmar. On May 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert V. Warner in Mellen, Wisconsin. Robert preceded her in death on January 3, 2003. Robert and Anna had owned and operated a small grocery store in Mellen prior to moving their family to Watertown in 1965. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown where she served on the Ladies Aid. Anna had been employed at Bethesda Lutheran Homes in Watertown for over 25 years until her retirement. She was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewer and Wisconsin Badger fan. She enjoyed puzzles and baking cookies. She truly loved her family and shared a special bond with her three grandchildren.
Anna is survived by two daughters, Barbara Warner of Watertown and Jane (Dennis) Schroeder of DeKalb, Illinois; grandchildren, Julie (Michael) Johnson of Racine, Michael (Kelly) Schroeder of Sycamore, Illinois and Matthew (Lindsay) Schroeder of DeKalb, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Austin Goodman, Kyle Ebersole, Claire Schroeder, Owen Schroeder, Evan Schroeder, Faith Schroeder, Liam Schroeder, Nora Schroeder, Casen Schroeder, Easton Schroeder; great-great-grandchildren: Kasen, Kamdyn and Braxton Goodman; sister, Margaret Holt of Peoria, IL; brother, Robert (Sharon) Kretzschmar of Mellen; sisters-in-law, Ardith Kretzschmar and Virginia Kretzschmar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Paul, Oscar, Karl, Richard and Walter and sisters, Helen and Elizabeth.
