James F. Stai
James F. Stai, age 71, of Watertown, passed away on Friday afternoon, November 29, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Tuesday from 5:30 until 8 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the charity of one’s choice. The Hafemeister Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. James Floyd Stai was born on November 26, 1942 in the Town of Ixonia, the son of Floyd and Anita (Hollatz) Stai. Jim attended school in Watertown. On November 5, 1960 he married Diane Kleemann at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lebanon. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and the Silver Creek Riders Snowmobile Club. Jim had been employed at Culligan Water Conditioning Co. in Watertown for over forty years. He was an avid sports fan. Jim had played softball in Watertown years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, snowmobiling and NASCAR.
Jim is survived by his wife, Diane of Watertown; three children, Jeffrey Stai of Watertown, Lori (Kevin Goetz) Lemke of Dousman and Michael (Theresa) Stai of Watertown; five grandchildren, Daniel Lemke Jr., Anita Stai, Kory Stai, Samantha Doolittle and Amanda Stai; two brothers, Floyd “Ticy” (Peggy) Stai of Watertown and Robert Stai of Beaver Dam; a half-sister, Judith (Geno)Soto of Watertown, a sister-in-law, Sue Stai of Watertown, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kyle Stai; a brother, Tom Stai and a sister, Ruth Ann Eisfeldt.
