Lucile was born on May 9, 1922 in Ixonia, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (nee Degner) Humphrey. On May 8, 1949, she married Gilbert Braasch at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Gilbert preceded her in death on March 17, 2008. Lucile had been employed as the Ixonia Town Treasurer and also had worked at Oconomowoc City Hall earlier in her life. She then worked for 25 years at Ixonia State Bank, from which she retired. Lucile was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia where she served on the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Lakeside Ladies Guild, Plattdeutscher Verein, the Wethonkitha Club and also served her branch of AAL.

Lucile is survived by her children, Larry (Sherri) Braasch of Eagle River; Joyce (Mark) Jaeger of Johnson Creek; grandchildren, Logan Braasch; Robin Braasch; Rachael (Dustin) Johnson; Amanda (Joseph) Buerger; Benjamin (Susan) Jaeger; Seth (Rebekah) Jaeger; beloved great-grandchildren, Rowan, Maren, Beau, and Cole Johnson; Jackson and Maxwell Buerger; Henry and Gideon Jaeger; Norah, Silas, Lucy and Abel Jaeger as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Eldora Kieck, Irene Voigt, Hilma Woelffer, and Margaret Else as well as brother, Carl Winter.

Lucile showed her family unending love, humility, hard work, and selflessness. She taught her family by prayer and by example her deep faith in her Lord. Memories of wonderful days on the family farm in Ixonia and excursions to the cabin on Razorback Lake with her are treasured. She had the ability to figure out any checkbook given to her, and would work feverishly to finish her needlepoint. She has been a great gift to her family that rejoice that every tear has been wiped from her eyes and she is now seeing her beloved Lord in Heaven. She will be truly missed. Lucile Dorothy Braasch, child of God.

The family would like to thank the Highland House family of caregivers for the home and care they gave Lucile while she was there. Also, a thank you to Rainbow Hospice for their guidance in giving end of life care.
