Dennison J. Justmann, age 88, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012, at LifeCare Hospital in Pewaukee.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, from 8:30 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Dennison Joseph Justmann was born on July 8, 1924, in Watertown, the son of Arthur B. and Elsa (Thoma) Justmann. On January 2, 1943, he married Mary Setz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waterloo.
Dennison had been employed as a farmer, a dealer for John Deere, and a salesman and dealer for A. O. Smith Harvestore. He had a life-long passion for farming and agriculture. He also served as the chairman of the Clyman Township for ten years. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Dennis was an avid card player, playing countless hands of sheepshead every chance he could.
Dennison was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always enjoyed the many family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to visits from his family and friends where they enjoyed good conversation and meals together. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mary; his children, Robert (friend Diane) Justmann of Iron Ridge, Richard (Virginia) Justmann of Watertown, David (Mary Lynn) Justmann of Juneau, Michael Justmann of Auburn, NY, and Mary Ann (Tom) Gleisner of Wausau; 17 grandchildren, Terese (Terry) Mercer of Juneau, Chris (Becky) Justmann of Juneau, Leanne Neuman of Columbus, Mark (Beth) Justmann of Juneau, James (Lisa) Justmann of Juneau, Thomas Justmann of Waunakee, Andrew (Jody) Justmann of Juneau, Deborah (Mike) Owen of West Bend, Rebecca Brandenburger of Twin Lakes, Shawn (Christi) Justmann of Watertown, Troy (Cherey) Justmann of Juneau, Scott (Corrine) Justmann of New Glarus, Todd (Anna) Justmann of Cottage Grove, Jennifer Sannes of Fond du Lac, Ryan (Kari) Justmann of Juneau, Todd (Allison) Gleisner of Atlanta, GA, and Tracy (Mike) Pyle of Woodbury, MN; 36 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, Jerome (Ruth) Justmann of Markesan, and John (Frances) of Fruita, CO, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Justmann of Markesan; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Metz and Elaine Klecker; a brother, Clark Justmann; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Justmann and Clara Justmann; brothers-in-law, Harold Klecker, Conrad Metz, and Frances Setz; a sister-in-law, Barbara Setz; and a great-great grandchild, Declan Stedman, in infancy.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Srinivasa Pamulapati and the nurses at LifeCare Hospital for their compassion and care of our dad. A special heartfelt thank you to Grandpa's guardian angels, Debbie Owen, Becky Brandenburger, and Becky Justmann.
