Donald P. Reese, 63, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at noon at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Helenville with Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. An additional visitation will be held at Hafemeister Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the family or to the church. Donald Palmer Reese was born on May 12, 1955 to Palmer and Marion (nee Kutz) Reese in Watertown. He grew up on the Reese family farm, which has been in the family for over 150 years. Donald is a 1973 graduate of Johnson Creek High School. On September 7, 1974, Donald married the former Kristine Nelson in Oconomowoc. Donald owned and operated his own freelance carpentry business, was a home inspector for Forward Mutual Insurance Company in Ixonia, and bartended at Donny’s Girl Supper Club for many years.
Donald enjoyed spending his time giving back to his community. He was the Farmington Town Chairman for many years and Supervisor before that, Jefferson County Board Supervisor, member of the Wisconsin Town’s Association, Helenville Fireman’s Board, active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, donated blood often with the American Red Cross, demoed food at Sentry Foods in Lake Mills, and served on many other boards in Jefferson County and at Church. He enjoyed going to seminars and learning more to better serve the County. His smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kristine Reese; children, Kelly Reese, Amy (Scott) Chance, Jeffery (Sarah) Reese; grandchildren, Jeremy, Haylie, Jacob, Alexander, Elisabeth; mother, Marion Reese; brother-in-law, Rick Wrensch.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Palmer Reese; sister, Jean Wrensch.
