Earl L. Kerschke, 90, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Marquardt Park Ridge in Watertown.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 noon at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Justin Cloute officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with Military Honors will take place on Monday at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Marquardt Hospice, the family of Earl or the charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Earl Lowell Kerschke was born on October 21, 1929 in Illinois, the son of Fred and Evelyn (nee Huebner) Kerschke. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 4, 1955 he married Jean Heidorn. Earl had been employed at Sealtest Ice Cream when living in Illinois. They moved to Wisconsin in 1970 due to his love for farming. He owned farms in Watertown and Helenville. While farming, he was employed by Wisconsin Electric, working at the Watertown and Delafield centers. On April 2, 1996 he married Shirley Majeskie. After retiring, he owned his own lawn mowing business for many years.
Earl enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing the concertina (he always carried one in the trunk just in case), polka dancing, and playing sheepshead and euchre.
Earl is survived by his wife, Shirley Kerschke of Waukesha; children, David Kerschke, Dale (Laura) Kerschke and Marla (Rob Feldman) Becker; grandchildren, Tyler Kerschke, Sarah (Bruce Singsime) Kerschke, Kristina Becker, Kayla Becker and Kortney Becker; sister, Phylis Held, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by special friends, Mike Becker and his first wife Jean; step children, Diane (Roman) Nowak and family, Mike Majeskie and family, Sandy Majeskie. He was further preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Lorraine) Kerschke; brothers-in-law, Donald Miller and Rudy Held as well as a step daughter, Valerie Sullivan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Park Ridge and Marquardt Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Earl.
