Katherine M. Lafler, age 51, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous ten year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Todd Iverson of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.

Katherine Marie White was born on May 14, 1962 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Robert and Dolores (Hoeft) White. She was a 1980 graduate of the Watertown High School. On September 17, 1994 she married Michael Lafler at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. Kathy had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown for twenty-two years. She was also employed with Home Health Services and for Marquardt Memorial Manor at Zinzendorf in Watertown. Kathy was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed softball, volleyball, bowling and pool. She loved to dance and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Kathy’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and could easily bring a smile to her face.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Mike, of Watertown; two daughters, Kara (Robert Carpenter) White and Kalee Lafler, all of Watertown; two grandchildren, Isaac and Chase Carpenter; two sisters, Dolores “Sis” White of Watertown and Maureen (Ron) Cushing of Franklin Park, IL; two brothers, Brian White of Chicago and Michael White of Watertown; a special family friend, Judy Foltz of Watertown, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard White.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rainbow Hospice Care, and a special thank you to Angie Zastrow, for all of her loving care and compassion.
