Max A. Grosenick, age 89 of Lebanon passed away on Saturday morning December 17, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Summit.

Max Alex Grosenick was born on October 6, 1927, in Lebanon, the son of Alex and Tabea (Krubsack) Grosenick. He was a member of the US Army having served in the Korean War. After his discharge he continued his service in the Reserves for the next five years. He was a member of the Watertown VFW Post #3709.

On July 11, 1959, he was married to Jean Ann Hansen of Chenequa, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Max was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon and in his earlier years served on various boards and committees.

He was instrumental in facilitating the implementation of the Lebanon Sanitary District. Max was a true entrepreneur having started and owned several successful businesses including Max Grosenick Trucking, Grosenick & Christian Machine Shop and Lebanon Motors-farm implement and auto repair. He remained a life long resident of Lebanon.

Max loved watching Indy and NASCAR racing, even attending the Indy 500 in his younger days. Max loved the military, his country, Mack trucks and his family.

Max is survived by his wife Jean of Lebanon, three children; Amy (Steve) Bothe of Cedarburg, Beth (Dwight) Heaney of Fort Atkinson and Gregg (Joan) Grosenick of Lebanon, three grandchildren; Britni Grosenick, Claire Grosenick and Alex Bothe, other relatives and friends. Max was the last member of his immediate family being preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016, at 11 am at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon with Rev. Douglas Bergelin officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be held at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 4-7 pm and at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service.
