Charles “Chuck” G. Haseleu, 78, of Watertown, passed away at his home, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer for almost a year. Chuck was surrounded by his loving family.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial, with Graveside Military Honors, will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 28th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or its Good Samaritan Group, Rainbow Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice.
Charles George was born in Watertown on May 22, 1934 to George and Marion (Schicker) Haseleu. He attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Grade School and was a 1952 graduate of Watertown High School. He also attended Northwestern College in Watertown for Business Administration. Chuck served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956.
On October 26, 1957, he married Sandra Schramm at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Chuck had been employed at C.W. Brown Printing in Oconomowoc for 25 years. He also worked for the Watertown Unified School District until his retirement.
Chuck was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the Wethonkitha Club and the Richwood V.F.W. Post #7852. He enjoyed basketball and softball and was very active with the Watertown area leagues. Chuck also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Watertown; his four children, Laurie (Rick) Hinze of Victoria, MN; Joel (Jodi) Haseleu, Todd (Tanya) Haseleu and Matt (Diane) Haseleu, all of Watertown; his four grandchildren, Kiara (finance, Vint Quamme) Haseleu, Jamie (Robert) Gaines, Connor Haseleu and Katie (Tyler Parpart) Haseleu; a great grandchild, Mercedes Parpart; step grandchildren, Travis (Andrea) Walsh and children, also, Trisha Philips and children. He is also survived by a brother, Bob (Barbara) Haseleu of Watertown; two sisters, Mary Lou (Ralph) Schmidt of Oconomowoc; Bev Saniter of Watertown; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorraine (Edward) Kuckkan of Watertown, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Tiffany Haseleu; a brother-in-law, Wayne Saniter and his father-in-law, Arthur Schramm.
